ONE FILIPINO COOPERATIVE OF BC
The One Filipino Co-operative of BC, the first ever Filipino Co-operative Organization in British Columbia, Canada was launched on October 31, 2009. The Co-op’s objective is to enhance the lives of the members, our kababayans, and support one another through cooperative effort or bayanihan. It is founded on the principles of self-help, responsibility, equality, democratic governance, focus on services to members, equitable distribution of benefits and earnings, and commitment for community growth and development.
CELEBRATING A DECADE OF SUCCESS
The One Filipino Cooperative of BC celebrated it's 10th Year of providing access to the many benefits and services to the Filipino community. The event was held with a Dinner and Dance at Kensington Community Center in Vancouver. Recognition awards were given to 37 incorporators who pioneered the setting up of the One Filipino Cooperative's Vision and Mission in 2009 and for providing their leadership, hard work, dedication, passion and invaluable sacrifices and contributions to the growth and success of the organization.
The One FilCo-op has functioned as a credit cooperative and now it has expanded its services to members including savings promotion, micro-lending, money remittance, 50% discounts on cable and internet, vehicle service, trading, professional and business services referrals, social development and the active participation in community events of Filipinos in Metro Vancouver
